What is the content of the Photography AS and A level course?
Students at AS level will develop structured assignments with the emphasis upon embracing a creative approach. Technical issues will be an area of focus in addition to encouraging students to edit images through developing an understanding of software such as Adobe Photoshop. The units at A level should demonstrate a greater level of independence and consequently the work should be of a more personal nature and less teacher led .The study of the work of other photographers, artists & designers form an integral element within all components of the course.
The self motivation that is necessary to sustain this work cannot be over emphasised and students will be expected to travel & work within a range of locations under the direction of professional photographer, Sue Ryder.
Who should study photography
- The subject is intended to meet the needs of the following types of candidate:
- those who will undertake further studies in Art and Design
- those whose studies or future careers make a background in Photography relevant
- those who have an interest in, enjoyment an aptitude for the subject and who wish to gain a further AS/A2.
